Why did it Happen (Part 2)

"Is there someone else" he blurted. She didn't reply. Never one to give in to hasty reactions.  He scanned her eyes, they too had no answer. They continued to walk..

Swaying trees conveyed the changing season. A misty wind, foretold the arrival of monsoon. It was time, perhaps time, to wash out all. Start with a clean yard, home, body and mind. "But can even floods, wash clean the heart??" another maddening pang. "I must be going insane" sighed Venkat.

Thoughts flew back in time, to high-school days. As adolescence bloomed, and innocence waned. He was her first love, but he, unsure. There was the thrill, of meeting in secret. The goosebumps, from the first touch. And then most special, that kiss one night as this. And the rest of it, that happened to follow..

Through school, college and first jobs, they had been together. In what's called live-in, they (seemed-to-have) comfortably settled. Abrupt and on-the-go, he had twice proposed to marry. Both times Lakshmi would always respond with a big smile, cuddle and a kiss, as if reassured. But never say yes. Though not as wise, he would surmise it only made sense. First time was the day he turned 21. The next time, the day he got his first job's offer letter. Both times perhaps, more a result of exultation, he reflected. But looking back now, he saw through why she never agreed. The intent to move on was there, but what was the reason...

Time had flown, they had survived. Bickering and quarrels, always ended in sorry. Lakshmi  ever, the calming, pragmatic influence. And Venkat, the blend of strength and sensitivity. Perhaps it was he, who needed her more..

Waiting to hear the rest and why she would always keep saying No? I have a feeling there's something in her past that you haven't let on.

A couple of notes:
1. Add a link for Part 1 in the start of Part 2. Saying its a series and you can find the start here. Similarly, now that Part 2 is done, add a link of Part 2 at the end of Part 1 so that people reading Part 1 can directly get to Part 2.

2. Add labels to your posts. That way you can group them together. A reader wanting to read the entire series doesn't have to click on each post (first they would have to find those!) but they can simply click on the label and it would bring up all those with that same label.

Wow! Thanks a lot yaar. I'll keep all these tips in mind and make changes. Believe it or not, I don't think abt what to write through the day. When I sit to write, I form the story or the the story gets formed. Maybe subconsciously I might've thought through the day. Either ways, I'm hoping to end this series with the third part..you are right, it would be her side of it, I too don't know it yet! :)

I've switched to artoac1.wordpress.com

Dear reader, I've switched to WordPress upon getting the pop-up that the current Blogger app is not configured to the upgraded version ...
